What are the rules for band or collective Sessions accounts?
While direct account sharing is not allowed, Artists can create a separate Sessions account for their "band" or "collective" while still keeping their individual "soloist" accounts.
Note that Artists cannot stream solo shows when using their "band/collective" Sessions account. All shows streamed using the "band/collective" Sessions account must necessarily be a shared show between two or more members of the group. Furthermore, Artists cannot donate any amount of Love between their individual accounts and the Sessions account associated with their band or collective.
This is detailed in the "Play Fair" segment of our Rules of Conduct. See also: Help Article: "Sessions Live Rules of Conduct (RoC)".
In short:
- The shows streamed using the band account must necessarily be a collective show by two or more of the members of the collective. They could either be physically at the same place when performing or merging their streams into one individual show.
- No Love can ever be donated from the individual Sessions account of the members to the band account they're a member of.
- No Love can ever be donated from the "band" account to the individual Sessions account of any of their members.
For a further explanation of this rule, please consider the following example:
- Let's assume that Sessions account "ABC Band" is comprised of members A, B, and C. Each of those members is a soloist with their own Sessions account under their name.
- ❌ - Artist A performing their solo show and streaming this show on the "ABC Band" account
- This is forbidden since all shows streamed using the "ABC Band" account must be collective streams.
- ❌ - Artist A performing their solo show and streaming this show on both their individual account and the "ABC Band" account
- This is forbidden since all shows streamed using the "ABC Band" account must be collective streams.
- ✅ - Artist A performing their show alongside Artist B, and streaming this show only on the "ABC Band" account
- This is allowed, as it's a collective stream between members of the group.
- ❌ - Artist A performing their show alongside Artist B, and streaming the show in all accounts associated with the group ("A", "B", "C", and "ABC Band")
- This is forbidden since Artist C is not performing in this stream. This show should not be streamed in Artist C's room, and should only be streamed by the other three accounts.
- ✅ - Artist A performing their show alongside Artist B, and streaming the show in all three accounts associated with the members that are performing ("A", "B", and "ABC Band")
- This is allowed, as all these Artists are members of the group and are currently performing.
